Thomas Allen

Owner/Wine Educator

Thomas Allen is an accomplished wine professional, holding dual sommelier certifications from both the International Sommelier Guild (ISG) and the Court of Master Sommeliers. He is also a Certified Specialist of Wine through the Society of Wine Educators (SWE). 

Thomas began teaching wine classes to the general public in 2010. Shortly after, he was certified as an instructor by the International Sommelier Guild and began teaching its professional programs, including the Sommelier Diploma Program, one of the most rigorous and comprehensive wine curricula available, with 308 hours of instruction over 30 weeks. He is also the co-author of The Modern Sommelier Compendium, the official textbook for the ISG Sommelier Diploma Program.

Thomas’s foundational training spans an impressive array of global institutions, including:

  • Cook Street School of Culinary Arts Professional Food and Wine Career Programs, Denver, CO 

  • International Sommelier Guild Levels I, II, and the Sommelier Diploma Program (SGD), as well as the ISG Teacher Education Program, USA
